We had always wanted to experience travelling in a motorhome and there is nowhere better to do this than in New Zealand! It was such a wonderful experience and we would highly recommend anyone to try it at least once in his or her lifetime.
Being in a motorhome provided us with the freedom to explore this beautiful country and camping at remote places away from the crowd without the hassle to pack and unpack as we move.
Our friends, Eric and Guan flew in from Singapore to join us on this road trip. We wasted no time at all and catapulted out of Christchurch to explore the amazing nature right after picking up our motorhomes.

Apps to download for your road trip
Before setting out for the road trip of your lifetime, we would recommend downloading a couple of apps such as Campermate, Gaspy and Rankers Camping NZ. They were useful resources to help us locate the cheapest Gas stations, paid or free DOC campsites, as well as facilities such as dump and water stations, etc.
We used Google Maps to navigate our ways around as it allowed us to download offline maps which directed us to places when the network was poor or simply not available.
Here’s a little video to summarise our epic road trip!
